It is bordered by Croatia to the north, west, and southwest, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast, with a very small coastline along the Adriatic Sea in the southwest.
The countryโs terrain is largely mountainous, with the Dinaric Alps covering much of the landscape, along with river valleys and karst formations. The limited coastline near the town of Neum provides its only access to the sea. Bosnia and Herzegovinaโs location in the Balkans has historically made it a crossroads of cultures, religions, and empires, contributing to its rich and complex cultural heritage.
